It’s not 2012 but 2020? New conspiracy theory says Mayan Calendar Predicted End of the World Next Week

The world is now going through an emotional trauma with the rapid spred of Covid -19 on one hand, and  Civil unrests, Locusts, cyclones, hurricanes,  international border disputes, economic crysis, on the other.. if you thought all these things signaled Armageddon, you may be right as per the new conspiracy theory.

Let’s see what this theory is all about.

In a series of tweets that have now been deleted, scientist and Fullbright scholar Paolo Tagaloguin explained that the Mayan predictions could still prove accurate due to our shift to the Gregorian calendar. As Taglaloguin said in now-deleted tweets, we lost out on 11 days per years by using the Gregorian Calendar as opposed to the Julian Calendar. In fact, we’re still in 2012 according to the Julian Calendar. Tagaloguin has since deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

The reading of the Mayan calendar was wrong according to a conspiracy theory on Twitter, and while the world didn’t end on Dec. 21, 2012, as originally prophesied by calendar readers, Mayan doomsday is sometime this week or next.

“Following the Julian Calendar, we are technically in 2012… The number of days lost in a year due to the shift into Gregorian Calendar is 11 days… For 268 years using the Gregorian Calendar (1752-2020) times 11 days = 2,948 days. 2,948 days / 365 days (per year) = 8 years,” scientist Paolo Tagaloguin tweeted last week according to The Sun. (Please see the link shared below of this article), later The series of tweets has since been deleted.

If Tagaloguin is correct, adding up all the missed days, then the Mayan doomsday date is … this week.

That was In 2012, doomsday theorists were convinced the world was ending on December 21, and hordes of believers flocked to Mayan sites in Mexico and Guatemala — only to be left disappointed and dirty due to the lack of sanitation at ancient Mayan pyramids.

As only the internet could, the speculation and conspiracy has become a mainstay topic on social media, turning into a meme in and of itself.

As we see the end date was shifted once from 2003 to 2012 and now the same to 2020 hope we will get the next date in 2030 😅

As a founder and editor of The October Sky, I personally don’t belive this to be true and we still have to pay our bills for July 2020.
